CARR-BRIDGE 4 - 1 TOMATIN UTD

Carr-bridge's starting lineup saw last season's top scorer, Marcus Forrest, on the bench due to an injury picked up on Tuesday night. However they still started brightly, with Grant missing 2 chances in the opening minute he'd have been easier scoring. However it took only 10 minutes for McMonagle to open his account with a great header from a Robertson cross.

The homesters then dominated, with the Robertson/McMonagle partnership causing United chaos out on the wings. But against the run of play, United pushed forwards and were awarded a penalty when Bowles was controversially adjudged to have taken down the sky blues' striker. But justice was done when his low diving save tipped the spot kick past the left post. This then spurred Carr-bridge back into the game with both McMonagle and Robertson going close before Grant made it 2-0 on 35 minutes, heading home a Rose free-kick. Two minutes later it was 3-0 when McMonagle got his second with a curling shot into the net, and that's how it stayed to the interval thanks to a few saves from Bowles.

The second half began in frantic fashion with McGowan getting Carr-bridge's 4th shortly after the restart through a well taken volley, lobbing the stranded United keeper. Hansen replaced Cormack, and Brown replaced Grant as Carr-bridge created chance after chance with Harrower, McGowan and McInnes all going close.

But it was United who struck the back of the net next, scoring on a speedy counter attack to make it 4-1. And Bowles was once more called into action with a flying 1-handed save to ensure there would be no further scoring on the night.
