TOMATIN UTD 0-7 CARR-BRIDGE![]()
Carr-bridge opened the League campaign by demolishing newcomers Tomatin Utd in a switched game up at Tomatin.
Three debutants took to the field on Tuesday, Sam Wilkinson, Jamie Harrower & David Ritchie, and each played his part in a fantastic overall team performance which entirely justified the scoreline.
Marcus Forrest opened the scoring with a quality 1-on-1 finish with the keeper, followed by an 18 yard Jules Orris strike. Number 3 came courtesy of a fine Texan long-ranger from Sam Wormald following some flowing passing moves, and the 1st half scoring was completed by David Ritchie's long range thunderbolt.
The lads began the 2nd half as they ended the 1st by attacking United's goal, and were quickly rewarded by Sam Wormald's second of the game from outside the box. Jamie Harrower then received a second yellow card which saw Carr-bridge play the remaining half hour with only ten men, but this had little effect as the goals kept coming. David Ritchie secured his own brace following some slick passing to make it 6, before super sub Lee Catto, only minutes off the bench headed home number 7 from a deft Wormald cross.
So 7 goals and 2 very well earned points. This was a classy Carr-bridge performance from start to finish, and they must now be serious contenders for the title if this level of form can be maintained.
