CARR-BRIDGE 1-2 CROMDALE

Yet another home defeat sees Carr-bridge slip further down the League table.

It all started off so well for the home side when Marcus Forrest headed home a corner within the first 5 minutes to open the scoring. Carr-bridge continued mounting pressure on Cromdale's goal, but a dozen chances were squandered as the half drew to a close 1-0 in the home side's favour.

However, Cromdale drew level shortly after the break, but Carr-bridge continued the assault on the visitors' goal without success. And with only 5 minutes of the match remaining, Cromdale sneaked a winner in highly controversial circumstances.

Carr-bridge's Sam Wilkinson had been badly injured in a 50/50 challenge, and both sets of players were calling for the ball to be put out of play to allow for treatment. However one Cromdale player possibly failed to hear the calls, and promptly continued upfield before blasting the ball into the empty net as keeper Gordie MacDonald stood by having believed play had stopped. Surprisingly, the referee awarded the goal, mutch to the home side's fury and the result stood at 2-1. Sam Wilkinson has a bad leg injury and is expected to be out of action for some time.

We can also report that Ian Cormack, injured in Friday's game with Aviemore Thistle, received 4 stitches in a head wound at Raigmore and will also now be out of commission for a few weeks.
