McCook Cup Semi-final
CROMDALE 2-4 CARR-BRIDGE![]()
Carr-bridge finally secured the chance of grabbing their first bit of silverware of the season by defeating Cromdale for the second time in 3 days, this time in the McCook Cup semi-final. And following a real ding-dong match in the other semi, between arch rivals Aviemore Thistle and Tomatin, the jags will provide our opposition in next Friday's final.
Scott MacDonald opened the scoring with his 3rd goal in 2 games on the 8 minute mark, heading home from close range. Martin Harrower then made it 2-0 15 minutes later with another header. Carr-bridge then cruised into the half time break 3-0 up as Gary McGeoch opened his season's account.
The visitors then relaxed just a bit too much as the second 45 commenced, allowing Cromdale to pull 2 goals back and threaten a late equaliser. However that old head on old legs, Ian Grant, put the tie beyond doubt with the last kick of the ball, thundering home a 30 yard strike via the post.
